M1903A3s below 3,360,000 are uncommon-scarce, but I wouldn't call them rare. M1903s and M1903A3s were produced concurrantly during the serial number ranges about 3,320,000 to 3,380,000. My question would be, did I miss some thing in my research or does this vendor have a miss stamped serial number on his 1903A3 which would make it a rare find? So from the research I did I would say that his rifle is low numbered 1903A3 nothing more nothing less. All of the parts on his 03A3 appeared to be stamped. ![]() Wikipedia states that milled parts were gradually replaced with stamped parts until, about serial number 3330000. I was able to find similar information on another web site and another showing blocks of serial numbers assigned to Remington for 1903A3's. When I entered the number in the 1903A3 search it showed that this rifle was produced between Nov. When I entered his serial number under 1903 the search result said that that number was out of the serial number range for 1903's. When I got home I cranked up the computer and started to do research on serial number ranges. ![]() I am not an expert on any thing but he told me that the reason he had it priced that way was because the serial number (3330069) belonged on a 1903 not on a 1903A3. It was a very nice rifle but I questioned as to why the price was so high. This past weekend I went to a gun show and a vendor had a Remington 1903A3 on his table with a $3,000.00 price tag on it.
